Orchard Road Christmas 2016
The Christmas Light-Up along Orchard Road Singapore is one of the country's centrepieces during the season, delighting millions of shoppers and pedestrians with a whimsical ballet of lights and colour. I was part of the team that conceptualised the theme and lighting design for 2016, entitled Spread Joy to Every Corner. The year's icon is an abstraction of a burst of joy, seen throughout the decor. On-ground interactive installations were also made, encouraging people to create joy together.

The Christmas icon lends a 3D look and feel to the design. This gives visitors multiple points of interest when they view the lights.
The colour scheme progresses across a blue gradient, with the likes of turquoise and sapphire offset by a neutral tone of silver.
The Canopy of Joy invites visitors to step on the pressure pad, making a light animation shoot up the beams and create a splendid light effect. The canopy becomes more dazzling when more people interact with the installation, giving a unique light show every single time.
The Music Men are three large-scale music boxes. Visitors are encouraged sync the melodies together and watch the men “dance” to the music.
